Education for professionals
IIFM content, including programs and articles, is provided for the education of healthcare professionals. It is not medical advice for any individual and is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by a qualified clinician.
Scope of practice
Completing IIFM education does not extend any practitioner's legal scope of practice. Practitioners remain responsible for acting within the licence or registration they hold in their own country.
Evidence
IIFM labels content by level of evidence. Emerging evidence, traditional practice and clinical considerations are identified as such, and should not be read as established fact.
Traditional and complementary approaches
Discussion of any approach, including Ayurveda, homeopathy, naturopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic or others, is educational and does not imply that IIFM considers it effective for any particular condition. Regulation of these approaches varies between countries.
Case examples
Case studies are fictional or anonymised educational examples. They do not describe real patients of IIFM or its faculty.
Emergencies
If you or a patient may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
